Product Description:
PVC accessories for drywall and veneer finishes
were developed by PLASTIC COMPONENTS, INC. to combat rust and protect corners
and edges from damage. Manufactured from high-impact resistant, lead free
PVC, they provide an excellent alternative to metal products and conform
to ASTM standards D3678 and C1047. All products shall be third party
tested to meet ASTM standard D4216-99 and be Canadian Code Compliant. Plastic
Components, Inc.’s
design with unique punch hole pattern, allows for positive bonding
of drywall mud and other finishes to the surface of the trim. Paint adhesion
is excellent with all products.
Basic Use:
Designed for interior applications, these accessories
resist damage and static electricity. They will not rust. Metal accessories
placed against other metal objects can result in electrolysis, but with Plastic
Components, Inc.’s PVC accessories, these common problems are eliminated.
Installation:
They may be stapled, nailed, screwed or glued into
place. Installation should be in accordance with ASTM C1047, and with
accepted industry practices and local building codes.
Availability & Cost:
Plastic Components, Inc. products are
generally lower in cost than aluminum and zinc products and will be competitive
with most galvanized products. All products are available from regional warehouses
which supply your local wholesale distributor.
Specification:
A short form CSI specification is printed on each
product sheet, along with product application information to assist with
your product selection. A copy of the ASTM standard specification is available
upon request.
Maintenance:
PVC products have a built-in resistance to damage
and will return to their original shape when subjected to normal impact.
There is no transmission of shock, which means damage is localized to the
point of impact. Repairs can be made by returning the product to its original
shape and re-applying finish to the damaged area.
If cut, the product can be repaired with vinyl cement.
Caulking: Caulking materials bond very well to PVC products. Contact caulk
manufacturer or Plastic Components, Inc. for specific recommendations. Painting: No special
preparation necessary.
